Aleksandras Vozbinas name award was created to commemorate artists' great interest in Lithuanian history which was also reflected in his work. Various interpretations of historical themes were frequent in Aleksandras's paintings.
This year's prize was awarded to set designer Julija Ciurupa, a third-year student of Vilnius Art Academy for developing the theme of Lithuanian history in her designs.
We congratulate the young laureate, wishing other students to be interested in the history of their country and to apply for next year's prize.
