DRAWINGS

Drawings can hardly be distinguished as a separate field in Vozbinas’s work. Even in his paintings, despite their
predominant colourism, skilful drawing is an equal partner to colour. Vozbinas ingeniously handles the line –
a graphical means of expression – painting it with a brush and using oils, or even engraving it on the freshly
laid paint. Like a musician, he improvises and manipulates the thickness of the line, its width and character.
Drawings also occupy the “peripheral” part of Vozbinas’s work – actual margins, notes and sketches. It is his
primary creative condition. Real and authentic, snappy and courageous, later they give birth to thoughts, ideas
and even paintings.
